| | Greetings Cinemapolitans!
We start the new week on Friday with a new film and a SPECIAL LIMITED ENGAGEMENT: - For just one week, fan-favorite Quentin Tarantino returns to Cinemapolis screens for a special presentation of the complete "Roadshow Edition" edit of his Oscar winning 8th feature film - The Hateful Eight. This digital presentation of the original 70 mm cut has all the extras Tarantino intended for audiences - the opening overture, the scenes deleted from the multiplex version, and, of course, an intermission. It also has just what you'd expect of a Tarantino film: whipsmart dialogue, non-linear storytelling, and explosive violence. The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw says Tarantino has produced "another breathtakingly stylish and clever film, a Jacobean western, intimate yet somehow weirdly colossal, once again releasing his own kind of unwholesome crazy-funny-violent nitrous oxide into the cinema auditorium for us all to inhale."
- Also coming this Friday is a high-tech comedy from writer/director/star Benjamin Dickinson. Creative Control took home the special jury award at last year's SXSW, for its striking B & W visuals and snappy script. Set in an all-too-near future, it tracks the misadventures of a Brooklyn ad exec as he tries (and fails) to traverse a new world of augmented and virtual reality. According to Eric Kohn of IndieWire, it's "visually scrumptious and slickly told [and] illustrates the power of groundbreaking technology while also indicting its extremes."

| This weekend also marks the return of the Family Classics Picture Show! Our special series introduces the magic of cinema to parents and kids with a year-long set of fun and affordable Sunday matinees. The program continues its 2nd year on Sunday, March 20th at 2pm with a screening of Mad Hot Ballroom.
Discounted tickets for these special Sunday events are just $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for an entire family. The Family Classics Picture Show at Cinemapolis is made possible by lead sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors, with additional support from Mama Goose

| As next week wraps up, we'll also have more LIVE theatre on the BIG screen with the return of National Theatre Live.
As You Like It - Shakespeare’s glorious comedy of love and change comes to the National Theatre for the first time in over 30 years, with Rosalie Craig (London Road, Macbeth at MIF) as Rosalind. With her father the Duke banished and in exile, Rosalind and her cousin Celia leave their lives in the court behind them and journey into the Forest of Arden. There, released from convention, Rosalind experiences the liberating rush of transformation. Disguising herself as a boy, she embraces a different way of living and falls spectacularly in love.
