| | Greetings Cinemapolitans!
As February continues, an old favorite returns to our screens: - Michael Moore bounces back with an uncharacteristic optimism in his latest film, Where To Invade Next. Don't let the title fool you--this isn't a war movie. Instead, Moore takes his show on the road, "invading" nations around the globe in search of solutions to some of the U.S.'s biggest problems. What he finds are lessons on public education, incarceration, nutrition, and more. As Justin Chang of Variety puts it, "there’s something undeniably sharp and buoyant about Moore’s globe-trotting, grass-is-greener approach that compels indulgence and attention."
In addition to this new film, we've got a number of special events coming up. |
| This Friday, we welcome our friends from Ithaca Fantastik back for another year of Fantastic Film Fridays. The program kicks off with the horror anthology Southbound. In it, five interlocking tales of terror follow the fates of a group of weary travellers who confront their worst nightmares - and darkest secrets - over one long night on a desolate stretch of desert highway.
Don't miss this first FFF of the year - door prizes and sneak previews of coming shows are on the menu! |
| As we look ahead to the end of the month, just a reminder that TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE for the "And the Winner Is..." Fundraising Gala. On Sunday, February 28th, come celebrate another year of great cinema at this annual event. It’s not just the big awards on the big screen--we’ll have fantastic food from Ithaca’s favorite restaurants…beer, wine, and signature cocktails from our friends at Collegetown Bagels, and chances to take home prizes of your own with silent auctions, drawings, and our “pick the winners” contest that could get you free movies for a year!

| While you're planning your next week at the movies, get in to see Carol and Room soon. They both leave after THIS Thursday, February 11! |
