Subject: 🎥 Cinemapolis - George Miller's latest and local filmmakers' acclaimed new doc arrive this weekend!

Greetings Cinemapolitans!

New movies and a weekend of special events are on the way! On Saturday, August 27th at 4 pm, our friends from the Museum of the Earth are bringing their Shark Fest Celebration down the hill with an afternoon screening of the prehistoric, oceanic, Statham-istic adventure, THE MEG.

Then, on Sunday, August 28th, we're ecstatic to welcome back (virtually, anyway) two hometown boys made good—Alex Pritz and Will Miller will join us for an on screen Q & A after the 2 pm screening of their Sundance award winning documentary, The Territory. If you can't catch the Sunday show, don't worry - it plays all week!

It's another weekend of premieres with TWO new films on the way, so get in soon to catch Elizabeth Bishop and the Art of Losing. It has its final screening on Thursday, August 25!

OPENING FRIDAY, AUG 26

85 min, PG

THE TERRITORY provides an immersive on-the-ground look at the tireless fight of the Indigenous Uru-eu-wau-wau people against the encroaching deforestation brought by farmers and illegal settlers in the Brazilian Amazon. With awe-inspiring cinematography showcasing the titular landscape and richly textured sound design, the film takes audiences deep into the Uru-eu-wau-wau community and provides unprecedented access to the farmers and settlers illegally burning and clearing the protected Indigenous

land.
