Dear Catholic to the Max Family,

We had a significant emergency happen this past Saturday that I ask your prayers for. On August 7th, my daughter Maddie had to have an emergency C-section at 28 weeks. Twin syndrome had suddenly occurred and they had to react quickly. On that night, two beautiful twin girls were born: Beatrix Hildegard and Matilda Remedios (after our Lady of Good Remedy). Little Matilda however was born in a very critical condition and needed to have multiple surgeries.

On Sunday evening around 10:30pm, Matilda Remedios slipped quietly into the hands of the Father. Her mother Maddie and father Brodie were both holding her close while all four of us grandparents and Aunt Therese held them. Matilda’s internal injuries due to twin transfusion syndrome were beyond what the most skilled doctors and technology could overcome. Miraculously she survived 5 hours of surgery and lived long enough for us all to gather in love, prayer, and support. We ask for your continued prayers for Matilda’s sister Beatrix Hildegard who is almost stable but very tiny and frail. Pray also for Maddie and Brodie as they go together through this valley of tears.
