We left no stone unturned in our research, delving into the meat and potatoes of the Fatima message to determine its key points, prayers, and direct quotes from Our Lady. Why? It's our Catholic duty--we would consider it a disservice to our vocation as Catholic-stuff-makers if we produced a shoddy, generic Fatima line that was souvenir-like in approach and outcome.

As much as I don't like being so late in the season to debut this product line, there are a few things to consider:

| -this weekend is just the beginning of the centennial--the apparitions lasted until October of 1917
-the October apparition was by far the most significant and most spectacular, and many churches and individuals will be choosing that day for their commemoration
-for many churches, too busy with First Communions and Confirmations right now, Fatima isn't even on their radars, yet. That's where you come in: put Fatima 100th Anniversary holy cards and art in your store and watch as Father's lightbulb goes on
-churches buy Stations of the Cross throughout Lent. Without fail, this happens every year. This is because Lent brings the stations to mind--even if Lent is already arguably "too late" to put stations, it's an excellent reminder that you need stations. Think of the beginning of the Fatima Centennial this way: it's the wakeup call and reminder churches need.
-Fatima is a lifestyle. These prayers, this art, this message will never go out of style. I predict healthy sales of Fatima product throughout this year and into years to come. |
