Reproduced from the Lithuanian original, this is the very image commissioned by St. Faustina Kowalska's own spiritual director.
It is said that, when Sr. Faustina came to view the direction and progress of the painting, she wept over how poorly conveyed Jesus' beauty was in comparison with the visions she had experienced. Our Lord assured her in subsequent visions that it was not in the artist's brush that the power of this image would be evident, but in the work it would do within the souls of those who venerated it.
Notable among Divine Mercy images for being the most faithful to St. Faustina's visions in a variety of ways, this image has experienced a renaissance of sorts in recent years, and may indeed overtake the "Hyla" image as the most popular Divine Mercy depiction in the United States today.

A beautiful iconic-style representation of the Divine Mercy devotion, the King of Mercy was first produced by Catholic to the Max in cooperation with Ignatius Press many years ago, and has been one of the more popular "special requests" we have received in recent years for large-scale reproductions.

You may remember that, as small framed prints, each of these fine depictions was previously available from Catholic to the Max since 2008 (in the case of King of Mercy, only one size!), but now that Catholic to the Max has expanded into canvas and large-scale reproductions of each image, the Vilnius and King of Mercy are poised to become the new favorites in the Divine Mercy marketplace.
