Katie retired to bed and Travis curled up on the floor, transforming into his warmer bear form, because honestly, the whole place was too cold.
He fell asleep within moments and blinked awake to a new day, eyes open just enough to see Katie creeping around him as if he were a dangerous wild animal.
Not that dangerous.
He languidly stretched out his feet and paws, and she let out a little gasp.
When he made no aggressive movements, she approached, saying, “Good morning. Damn, if I’d known you were sleeping in bear form down here, I might’ve asked to cuddle up.
You look warmer than four layers of blankets.”
He let out a huffing sound, the closest approximation of a laugh he could manage in bear form, and transformed back.
“Tonight then, perhaps.”
