Leadership Class Speeches The men in the Leadership Class will be giving their speech presentations this afternoon, Monday, September 9 at 4:30 PM in the ALERT Auditorium. If you are able to attend in order to give them a live audience that would be greatly appreciated.

| September Prayer and Fasting | Dr. Levendusky Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 10 will be a special day of prayer and fasting in the Faculty Dining Room at 12 Noon. The significance of the eighteenth anniversary of September 11, 2001 will remind us to set some time aside this week to pray often for the Lord’s mercy and work in America. Please join us in asking the Lord to allow us as individual Christians to reach our unsaved family and friends, and to accomplish His purposes for the IBLP and ALERT ministries we are all involved in currently.
|
| Thank You We are so grateful for all the staff that willingly jumped in to help with dorm cleaning last Thursday. Much was accomplished and we were so encouraged at the progress. Thank you for your diligence!
|
| Convention Center As we prepare for Family Camp, all personal items should be removed from the Convention Center by this Friday, September 13. |
| | Unit 62 Welcome Reception Everyone is invited to join us for dinner Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 PM in the Dining Room as we welcome the men of Unit 62 to the program. (Dinner will be available at the reduced rate of $2/adult and $1.50/child.) Reception and fellowship to follow. We hope you can join us as we let these men know we are here for them and they are the "mission." Please wear your name tags.
|
| Family Camp Assignments Family Camp is just around the corner! It's always a pleasure to work with you and enjoy this week together. If you will be unavailable for an assignment, have limited availability throughout the week, or have an assignment preference, please contact Cherith by Friday, September 13. |
| Bassett Wedding Reception With thankfulness for your loving support, Jonathan and Meg would like to invite everyone to a reception at the Chapel on Sunday, September 22 at 3:00 PM for snacks and fellowship. We hope you can join us! "Many, O LORD... are thy wonderful works which thou hast done." Psalm 40:5 |
| Battalion Update The men in the 2nd phase of training will be moving on into chainsaw operations and basic medical First Response training this week, while the EMT's finish their final classes and scenarios in preparation for deployment on Thursday. The Leadership Class will be learning from guest instructors this week and then join the EMT's for deployment as well.
Basic Training: Unit 62 is right around the corner. The senior Cadre is in for a week of preparatory training before the rest of the Cadre arrives on Saturday.
SMAJ Dept Notes: Thanks to everyone who came out to help support and run the Caleb Nelson Memorial Race on Saturday. Your participation was very much appreciated! |
| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden Ministries like Samaritans Purse and Chick-fil-A often give me hope when you consider their humble beginning to the worldwide impact they are making today. Which one of these Leadership Lessons from Chick-fil-A could we work to improve this week? - Surround yourself with people you trust—then give them freedom.
- Write down your purpose—then use it to make decisions.
- Don’t be afraid to choose biblical principles even when they seem like they’ll never work.
- Recognize the importance of culture.
- To build better culture, stay where you are.
- Take the long view. Trade chasing numbers for building relationships.
- Even when you’ve arrived, you haven’t.
