"He was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God..." 2 Cor. 13:4
Current Events
ALERT Chorus
There will be a chorus meeting/rehearsal tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 7:00 PM. With only a few men in the battalion, we may need to explore other options as we prepare for Family Camp and the Veterans Concert. It would be extremely helpful if everyone who is willing to participate was able to be at this meeting to help us determine how best to move forward for the upcoming events. If you have further questions, please contact Lt. Bass.
Unit 62 Welcome Reception
Everyone is invited to join us for dinner this Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 PM in the Dining Room as we welcome the men of Unit 62 to the program. (Dinner will be available at the reduced rate of $2.00/adult and $1.50/child.) Reception and fellowship to follow. We hope you can join us as we let these men know we are here for them and they are the "mission." Please wear your name tags.
Unit 62 R-Night
Dinner on Monday, September 30 will be at 5:00 PM. R-Night will start promptly at 6:30 PM in the Gym.
Family Camp Western Day
Be sure to spread the word about Tuesday's Western Day during Family Camp! Poster download and more info at www.alertacademy.com/community.
Battalion Update
As we start the next semester, we have two groups of men in training—5 men in CST and 2 men in Flight. They will be starting up their course work this week and getting into the routine of their new training.

Basic Training: The men of Unit 62 arrive this Thursday! Please be in prayer as this new unit spends their first three days here in Catalyst Training spiritually preparing themselves for the adventure ahead.

SMAJ Dept Notes: As we move forward into this coming semester, Cpl. Claude Dean will be working as the NCOIC and Capt. Vanderford will be working as the CO.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
As we start this new semester, I'd like to challenge us in the area of discernment. Not in a way we might expect, but in the way we try to "discern" the motives behind other people's actions. This kind of thinking is almost always wrong and puts strain on our lives and relationships. This week when you're tempted to make up your own story as to why someone did something, remember—you don't actually know, give them "positive intent," and when in doubt, ask! More about We Don't Know Why.
