| Staff Dorm Cleaning With not as many volunteers this year, Housekeeping would be grateful for any assistance as they prepare rooms for Family Camp after the July Conference, Hulin/Poteet Wedding, and Basic Training guests. This will be paid time for all staff. If you're able to participate, please join us Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8:30 AM in front of Dogwood. Muffins and coffee provided! Please contact Michele Weiss to sign up for your favorite cleaning responsibility. Thanks for your help and support! |
| Conference Messages We just completed our conference season. Thank you for all your prayers and support. If you would like to listen to any of the messages before they are released on Embassy Media, you're welcome to contact Samuel Vanderford to borrow the MP3's. |
| Staff/Ministry Yard Sale The Weisses are arranging a staff yard sale for October 30–31. Please contact them if you are interested in joining in or if you have large items that you would like listed. |
| Family CampWe are excited to invite our staff to participate in our "S'More Family" promotion this year. "S'More Families" was designed for veteran Family Campers to invite families who have never attended Family Camp. For our Family Campers, this means the new family receives complimentary registration fees while the host family receives 50% off. For our staff who invite families* to camp, your guest will receive 50% off their registration fees. Please have your friends call 903-636-9201 to register with your name as a referral.
*New families are defined as families (2+ individuals, including a head of house) who have never come to Family Camp. Your friends may purchase lodging and meals if desired, but Family Camp Registration will cost them nothing. Please note that this discount excludes meals and lodging and applies to your registration costs only.

| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
As we transition into the new semester, we can begin to "check out" and move into survival mode. Instead, look for opportunities in the mundane.
1) Answer the right question. Instead of focusing on “what do we need to DO?” ask the more important question, “who do I want to BE?” 2) Reframe the opportunity. Reframe your “have to’s” as “get to’s.” These subtle changes can have a tremendous impact on our perspective. 3) Get serious about growth. Now is not the time to push pause on your leadership growth. Get serious about your leadership growth—maybe even more serious than you’ve ever been!

| Basic Training Update | Maj. Boulden
Basic Training Unit 63 is right around the corner. The Cadre showed up over the weekend and we hit the ground running this morning. Please be in prayer for us as we prepare over the next two weeks. Please be aware that the men in Cadre are on a pretty strict schedule and separation policy this time around. If you have any questions about that please be in touch with Lt. O'Neal or myself.

| Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
Fire Academy is on deployment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this week doing relief work from the derecho that hit in August. Second phase is wrapping up their last week and cadre has begun their training. Please pray for faithfulness in the guys that are moving on after this quarter.
