Caleb Nelson Memorial Race
The Caleb Nelson Memorial Race is currently scheduled for Saturday, August 13. Those who wish to participate will need to recite Psalm 91 and write (or have already written) a 200-word essay on the chapter. If you have further questions, please contact SMAJ Moody.
Wedding Invitation
Maj. and Mrs. Horsman and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Nafziger would like to invite all staff and families to attend the marriage of Olivia and Marcus.

The wedding will be held on Campus, in the Gym on Saturday, August 20, at 12 noon. Reception and lunch to follow. Your RSVP is kindly requested by August 6.

Olivia and Marcus’ registry and RSVP link can be found at theknot.com/marcusnolivia

Meal Cost Update
Due to increased food and operational costs for our kitchen, we need to increase meal prices. Starting September 1, staff meals will be $5.25/adult and $3.50/child. Guest meals will be $9.00/adult and $7.00/child. We are so grateful for our kitchen staff who continually provide such excellent meals and, as a tribute to their economy and diligence, we have not had a price increase since 2017. Thank you for your understanding as we all try to navigate rising costs across the nation.
Save the Date
Congratulations to Samuel Winkler and Anna Ferraro on their recent engagement! They will be getting married on September 24 in Jacksonville, IL. The whole campus is invited to their on-campus reception on Sunday, November 13, 3–6 PM. More details to come!
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
L&C returned from their DC trip Sunday evening. Things went smoothly, and the students were able to have a lot of really neat opportunities. 2nd Phase will be learning Search and Recovery diving this week and then leaving for Ferguson, MO on Sunday for a flood relief deployment. The Caleb Nelson Memorial Race kicks off on Saturday, August 13, at 6:00 a.m. As opposed to kitchen duty and some other things we do around here, this race IS a spectator sport. We’d love to have a big turn-out at the starting line and along the race route. In a unit meeting this weekend, each of the men had an opportunity to reflect on regrets they may have from the first part of this quarter. Please pray that they will be able to live intentionally in order to take advantage of the unique opportunities God has given them here. Also, pray for opportunities on deployment to share the good news of new life in Jesus.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
Over the course of the last three years, we have been through some very "uncertain times." Even now we have questions about the future and wonder what life will look like next year. Below are a few reminders as we Learn to Lead in Uncertainty.

1) Recognize that uncertainty is the only reality that’s certain.
2) Don’t make empty promises about elements out of your control.
3) Approach the uncertainty as an opportunity to grow stronger.
4) Refuse to be a victim of your circumstances by spotting the trade-offs.
5) Make the interruption an introduction to a new way to reach your goal.

"Why not see it as an adventure? Why not build strong 'emotional muscles' by welcoming changes that come with uncertainty?" - Tim Elmor
