Kitchen Notice for Next Week
With our students off campus next week (for dive training), we will not be serving meals in the Dining Room, Monday, August 14–Thursday, August 17. We would be happy to provide sack lunches and boxed dinners by RSVP, and Charissa will provide details on when/where to pick up these meals. Please note that the regular meal rate applies.
Mayflower Minutes
What is huge, red inside and green all over? A Mayflower watermelon. There are also cantaloupes, corn, okra, beans, bitter melon, and other Chinese vegetables unique to us. The sweet potatoes are still growing. They started their gardens in late May/early June and have been diligent and resourceful, and are now reaping the benefits of their hard labor. This abundance has overflowed in generosity to others. They are grateful to the Lord for this abundant harvest!
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
Last week’s class for 2nd Phase consisted of apologetics and personal defense training. The men will be doing firefighting and final scenario day this week and close out the quarter with two weeks of dive training. The end of the quarter is fast approaching, and many things still need to happen before the end. In addition to classes and the normal routine of battalion life, the next three weeks will include end-of-semester evals, the Caleb Nelson Memorial Race, scenario day, and awards & promotions. Please pray that leaders and men alike will grow from the challenges they face in the next three weeks. I am reminded this week that we cannot bring any change in the men’s lives. So most importantly, please pray for God to do His work in their lives.
