| Unit 67 Welcome Reception Everyone is invited to welcome the incoming men of Unit 67, Thursday, September 8, at 6:15 PM in the Dining Room. We hope you can join us as we let these men know we are here for them. Please wear your name tags.

| Hawley Baby Shower Please join us for a baby shower honoring Daniel and Sarahann Hawley! This come-and-go fellowship will be held Thursday, September 8 at the Hendriches from 7–9 PM. Couples and families are welcome. In place of a card, please bring a favorite children's book. You can also view their baby registry here. The invite can be viewed here as well! |
| Meal Cost Update Due to increased food and operational costs for our kitchen, we need to increase meal prices. Starting September 1, staff meals will be $5.25/adult and $3.50/child. Guest meals will be $9.00/adult and $7.00/child. We are so grateful for our kitchen staff who continually provide such excellent meals and, as a tribute to their economy and diligence, we have not had a price increase since 2017. Thank you for your understanding as we all try to navigate rising costs across the nation.

| Family Camp Volunteers If you have a specific area of service you enjoy supporting during Family Camp, please let us know by replying to this email. Also, if you know of anyone who is interested in volunteering for Family Camp, please pass along our volunteer application. We could use volunteers up to two weeks before Family Camp, the week of, and the week after.

| Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford Thank you for all of your prayers and support through this past quarter. We appreciate your investment in the men by cheering during the Caleb Nelson Memorial Race, engaging the men in meaningful conversations during meal times, hosting the men in your home, and many other things. We transitioned from Summer to Fall training quarter on Saturday. This quarter, we have five men in Tech Rescue and five in Missions. Please pray that God will use this quarter to strengthen these men and will draw each one of us to Himself this fall.

| Basic Training Update | Maj. Boulden Cadre Training for Unit 67 is off and running today! The men in cadre will be spending the next two weeks in an intensive training environment to mentally, physically, and spiritually prepare for the challenge ahead of them. Please be in prayer for the cadre and the recruits as we all prepare for the adventure of Basic Training.

| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden It's been said that "teams move to the speed of trust." If that's true, the more focus we put into building trust in our teams, the better and more efficient they run. Here are three simple ways to start building trust today. 1) Start with understanding. You’ll build trust with your team members when they feel you understand them. 2) Build a track record. Every interaction you have with your team builds your reputation. If you regularly blow up over small problems, your team will learn to avoid bringing them to you—until they turn into big ones.
3) Own your failures. This is one of the best ways to build trust with your team. When you’re humble enough to take responsibility for mistakes and bad decisions, it shows them you’re not on an ego trip—and it sets a standard for how everyone should act. - Dr. Henry Cloud.
