Staff Lunch Staff lunch will recommence this Wednesday, August 25 at 11:45 AM. |
| Prayer and Fasting | Dr. Levendusky I would like to call our staff to a day of prayer and fasting on Thursday, August 26. We will meet for an extended period at noon prayer time and highlight some of the local, national, and international needs. These include thanksgiving for our completed summer ministries, increased COVID illness and ramifications, Basic Training starting in September, Northwoods Family Conference, Family, Camp, election integrity issues, and the Afghanistan situation. Please join in prayer for these and other important matters that we can impact through this time of seeking the Lord personally and ministry-wide. |
| Leadership Corner
As we prepare to make the transition into the final semester of the year, we will inevitably encounter additional challenges and decisions that will impact other people's lives. During this process, it can be very helpful to ponder one very simple question: Who benefits?
Who benefits from this policy? Who benefits from this project? Who benefits from this program? Who benefits from this rule? We all assume that our motives are pure. Asking this question can help us make sure they are. Are we really doing things to benefit others or for the benefit of ourselves? |
| Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
As I mentioned in last week’s update, I was leading a service trip to the Northwoods Conference Center with Tech Rescue and CST students. We returned safely last night. The trip was enjoyable with many little blessings. Some of those blessings were good weather, good work, and a very relaxing environment with beautiful mornings and volleyball, tubing, and corn hole in the evenings. There were also a lot of neat moments of relationship building and discipleship. L&C left on Saturday with Lt. O’Neal for their DC trip, and 2nd Phase left yesterday with Cpt. Hawley and Sgt. Winkler for a two-week trip doing flood relief in Detroit and then sawyer work at the old HQ campus in Oak Brook. Please continue praying for God to do His work in the hearts of the leadership and in the hearts of the men.
