| Joshua James Send-Off Pres James is hosting a send-off gathering for Joshua James on Saturday, August 27, from 2 to 5 PM at the Hendrich's home. Refreshments will be provided. He is scheduled to leave for Army Basic Training on Monday, August 29. If you have a note or scripture to send with him, please email them to Pres James at ptjames97@gmail.com; she will be compiling these notes into a binder for him. | Meal Cost Update Due to increased food and operational costs for our kitchen, we need to increase meal prices. Starting September 1, staff meals will be $5.25/adult and $3.50/child. Guest meals will be $9.00/adult and $7.00/child. We are so grateful for our kitchen staff who continually provide such excellent meals and, as a tribute to their economy and diligence, we have not had a price increase since 2017. Thank you for your understanding as we all try to navigate rising costs across the nation.

| Save the Date Samuel Winkler and Anna Ferraro will be getting married on September 24 in Jacksonville, IL. The whole campus is invited to their on-campus reception on Sunday, November 13, 3–6 PM. More details to follow.

| Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford Thank you to those who prayed for a smooth trip for 2nd Phase and opportunities to share the gospel. Things went smoothly, and the men gained valuable perspective as they were able to serve needy people who lost much in the recent flooding. God also allowed some of them to play a part in people coming to faith in Jesus. L&C studied public speaking last week and will be finishing papers and other assignments this week. They will be presenting their speeches in the dining room at 4:30 on Thursday afternoon. Please come to be inspired and challenged and to show your support. As we move into this last week of the quarter, please pray for God to sustain the growth that has begun in the men's lives and prepare both students and leaders who will be here for Missions and Tech Rescue next quarter.

| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden One of the difficulties we face in the work we do here is our high turnover rate. Guys come and go so quickly. It can often feel like just when we are making some headway, the semester changes, and we're on to the next thing.
Here are a few reminders for us as we make the quarter transition this week. "I’m a steward. That means nothing is forever. So I keep my hands open. I’m not tight-fisted. When it’s time for something to end, it’s going to be good for everybody.
