Welcome Baby Serenity!
Benj and Marina are excited to announce that Serenity Josephine Cahill was delivered this morning, August 19, weighing 8lb 2 oz and measuring 21 inches long. Her name means, "Peace, He will increase." God gave the Cahill's peace that He would increase their family in His perfect time. Mama and baby are doing well!
Family Camp | Spread the Word!
We are super excited about Family Camp this year! Our 20th Anniversary theme, "Because of Christ," encapsulates both our past and our future. He is our source and beginning; He is our motivation and outcome—our "wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption." (1 Cor. 1:30)

Speakers this year include Eric Ludy, Dr. Lew Sterrett, Bob Gray II, the Ron Hamilton family, and Chaplain Tom Burch. We are also excited about creating an exciting sports complex (volleyball, basketball, nine square, roller rink, ping pong, and other family games) in the Convention Center complete with a Nerf Park—and hosting Friday night's Grand Finale at the Lakefront with a hamburger cookout.

Please invite your friends, family, and church to join us October 12–18 for this encouraging and memorable week. Guests can visit alertfamilycamp.com or call us at 903-636-9201.
Also, help us get the word out by following Family Camp on Instagram and Facebook
iPhone/iPad Needed
If anyone has an iPhone or iPad that they no longer need, it would be helpful for our IT team to use in testing the Embassy App. Please contact Adam Waller if you have a device (less than four years old) that you would be willing to donate to the Embassy Media App project.
Battalion Update
The men reached their halfway point in the semester last week. 2nd Phase is deployed to South Texas with Samaritans Purse for the next two weeks working on rebuild projects. The EMT's will be on clinicals for most of the week with their big scenario day on Wednesday, Aug. 21. Leadership Class is moving into their Public Speaking training this week and will head out for their DC trip on Sunday.

Notes from the SMaj. Dept:
SMaj. Kilpatrick will be off-campus and out of pocket, Aug. 24—Sept. 5. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to Cpl. Nafziger.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
As you look into the coming week consider, "where do I as the leader need to take the initiative? Broach the subject? Rock the boat? Have the conversation? Take the step? Pull the plug? Make the change?" Someone has to go first. As the leader, it should be you. More about Leaders Go First.
