Note from SMAJ
This week the battalion is starting a quarterly long game that involves finding laminated cards strategically placed around campus. The cards are 2” by 2” squares with differing colors - please keep them in place if you find them, and if they are in your way, please only move them slightly or within the same vicinity. If you have any concerns or problems please let me know as you see fit. Most of the cards will be picked up by the men in training when they find them. The purpose of this event is to add excitement to the battalion life and help them to be watchful. Thanks for making things happen on this campus! - SMaj Moody.
Lost and Found Sale
Operations will be cleaning out their Lost and Found collection this Wednesday after staff lunch in the Teakwood Room. Items are available for sale and include tax.
Singspiration
There will be a Singspiration this Sunday, July 25 in the Chapel at 6:30 pm. Sound Foundations and the Battalion will both be there, and it would be great to have a big crowd that night. If you have special music you'd like to share, please contact Phillip to have your selection "approved" and to get on the list.
SF Host Family Request for July 25
Sound Foundations would like to see if any families were interested in opening their home to a team of students and staff (about 8-9 people) for fellowship on Sunday, July 25 from about 12 noon to no later than 4 pm. Students and staff will be bringing their sack lunches to eat in the home. Staff families are welcome to provide dessert or a snack if desired, but it is not at all required

If you are interested in hosting a group, please contact music@iblp.org by Thursday, July 22.
Stewardship Project Update
Six months ago in January 2021, we discussed the important issue of stewardship and our personal and corporate responsibilities with all the Lord has given to us. Using passages from Luke 19:12-27 and Matthew 25:14-30, a challenge was given to each one to prayerfully ask the Lord what He would have us do along with a simple project with $100 representing “talents.” Please let us know if you have any stories or examples on how the Lord has allowed you to personally be involved in any increase, spiritually most importantly, or otherwise, in your stewardship in 2021.
Sound Foundations Upcoming Concerts
Staff are welcome and invited to attend the upcoming Sound Foundations Concerts:
  • Sound Foundations Concert, Gym - Thursday, August 5 at 6:30 PM, during conference. Reception to follow.
  • Piano Workshop Concert, Auditorium - Friday, August 13 at 7 PM, reception to follow.
Leadership Corner
These are the moments of "chaos" that we must ask ourselves, "Is this a want or a need? Do you know anyone who has managed to gain control over things outside of their grasp? Honking at traffic serves no purpose other than to express a need to control the uncontrollable. Why do we work so hard to try to capture control over things that are clearly not in our control? What would happen if we stopped trying and worked on the things we can influence instead? -Seth Godin
Battalion Update
For 2nd phase, this week will include sawyer training and an introductory leadership class. They will also have their pool day for the hands on part of dive training this Saturday afternoon. The other phases are continuing their training with nothing significant to report. Please be in prayer for the men as there is a cold going around. Please pray that it will stop spreading and that it will not inhibit training.
