SF Host Family Request for July 25
Sound Foundations would like to see if any families were interested in opening their home to a team of students and staff (about 8-9 people) for fellowship on Sunday, July 25 from about 12 noon to no later than 4 pm. Students and staff will be bringing their sack lunches to eat in the home. Staff families are welcome to provide dessert or a snack if desired, but it is not at all required.
If you are interested in hosting a group, please music@iblp.org. |
| Stewardship Project
Six months ago in January 2021, we discussed the important issue of stewardship and our personal and corporate responsibilities with all the Lord has given to us. Using passages from Luke 19:12-27 and Matthew 25:14-30, a challenge was given to each one to prayerfully ask the Lord what He would have us do along with a simple project with $100 representing “talents.” Please let us know if you have any stories or examples on how the Lord has allowed you to personally be involved in any increase, spiritually most importantly, or otherwise, in your stewardship in 2021.
As a general financial report for the first five months from January to May 2021, we have trended for both IBLP and IAA in a positive direction by reducing expenses and observing increased revenue. Much yet needs to take place in each of these final six months of the year, but your continued awareness and dependence on the Lord seem to be making a difference. Please pray that the Lord will guide in each decision regarding our personal stewardship and fruitfulness in our ministries at large.

| On Campus Extension Changes
ALERT has made some shifts in job responsibilities, so we have changed some of the staff's on-campus extensions as well. Samuel Winkler's responsibilities are recruiting, public relations, alumni relations, and directing Quest. Phillip Vanderford is responsible for overseeing the battalion (2nd and 3rd phases) and coordinating with the ALERT Training instructors.
Extension updates: Phillip Vanderford - 2232 Samuel Winkler - 2725 (Phillip's old number)

| Leadership Corner: Looking Unto Jesus
As we kick off this next session of forging, let's remember to keep the main thing the main thing—Jesus. "Only the Gospel transforms a man." "The Holy Spirit turns our eyes entirely away from self: He tells us that we are nothing, but that Christ is everything. Remember, therefore, it is not your hold of Christ that saves you—it is Christ; it is not your joy in Christ that saves you—it is Christ; it is not even faith in Christ, although that is the instrument—it is Christ’s blood and merits. Therefore, do not look so much to your hand with which you are grasping Christ as to Christ; do not look to your hope but to Jesus, the source of your hope; do not look to your faith, but to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of your faith... Keep your eye simply on Him; let His death, His sufferings, His merits, His glories, His intercession be fresh upon your mind. When you waken in the morning look to Him; when you lie down at night look to Him. Do not let your hopes or fears come between you and Jesus; follow hard after Him, and He will never fail you." - C.H. Spurgeon

| Battalion Update
Battalion arrived Saturday evening and we began the quarter with a briefing meeting to set the tone and communicate to the men what they needed to know to start off well. Thank you to those of you that joined the Battalion welcome Sunday night! It was a great time to interact with and get to know each other just a little bit. This morning, Sergeant Major kicked things off extra early with a rigorous event to build camaraderie and bring some intensity to things. Training this quarter includes Tech Rescue (8), Leadership & Communications (3), CST (3), and 2nd Phase (17).
