Battalion Welcome We’d love for all staff to join us in the Dining Hall Saturday, July 2, from 7:00-8:30 pm for a gathering to welcome the Battalion back and get to know them. There will be snacks and board/card games. Please bring any games you wish to share but avoid games with regular face cards.
|
| Fourth of July Activities As part of their Independence Day festivities, the Battalion will be playing games in the Dining Hall after lunch (1:30-3:00) on July 4. After dinner they will enjoy some time on the rappelling tower from 6:30-7:45. Staff are welcome to us for both of these activities.

| Prayer and Thanksgiving| Dr. Levendusky As we enter into the beginning of the second half of 2022 on Friday, July 1, I would like to call our staff to a time of prayer and thanksgiving that day at noon.
There are many things to thank the Lord and praise His presence and work in our lives. With the Young Men’s Journey to the Heart finishing this weekend and the Quest program starting, along with other important activities and programs occurring this month, we want to call on the Lord to protect everyone with His grace and lovingkindness. Please join us on Friday, July 1, for a day of prayer and thanksgiving.

| Fireworks Show Cancelled EBC's Fireworks show was cancelled due to the burn ban. They will still be using the Sports Complex Wednesday, June 29, from 9:30 PM to Midnight. |
| Library Search Help Needed If you have a few minutes on Wednesday afternoon, and good eyes that can spot book covers on a shelf (although you should not judge a book by its cover…), we need to find one book of a set that is somewhere in the library. If you are interested, please email Carol at cblairedit@aol.com, or talk with her at Birthday Lunch on Wednesday. |
| Olivia Horsman Bridal Shower All mothers, daughters, and staff ladies are invited to attend a bridal shower in honor of Olivia Horsman on Friday, July 8, at 6:00 pm in the Formal Dining Room. Light desserts and snacks will be served.
We would love to bless Olivia by helping stock her pantry! Please bring along a favorite baking ingredient, canned, boxed, or dry food item for her new home.
Olivia and Marcus’ registry information can be found here. Please RSVP by June 30 to Christy Cox (662-603-4736) |
| Summer Family Conference We are looking forward to our Summer Family Conference, August 1-5. General sessions will take place in the Chapel, with the children’s programs happening nearby. Staff families can pre-register and have their children participate in ALERT Cadets, Children’s Institute, Pre-Excel, and Commit at no charge. Contact Bethany at extension 2153 to register any children who will be attending.
We are also excited to have Brandon Keilen present the entire Affirming Biblical Foundations course (10 sessions) throughout the week. Brandon has been working to revitalize some key biblical truths originally presented in the Basic Seminar. We would like to encourage as many staff as possible to attend these sessions in order to provide valuable feedback to Brandon as he develops and refines the course to share these with a wider audience. (If you have your supervisor’s permission to attend during regular workday hours, you will be paid for those hours and need to use the appropriate T-Sheets code. Attendance at the evening sessions is entirely voluntary and will not be paid time.)

| Battalion Update| Capt. Vanderford The 2nd Phase and L&C students arrived Saturday and spent the weekend settling in and learning Battalion procedures. L&C left yesterday morning for a trip to the New Orleans area for storm relief projects and ministry to the community with an area church. Please pray that the leadership will be able to build trust with the students and faithfully point them to Christ.

| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden Our jobs carry with them both individual contributions and team contributions. We often have to pivot from one mindset to the other depending on the time of the year and the programs running. We have to be able to hold both of these mindsets in tandem with one another.
Below you will find a brief list of that dichotomy.
Individual Contributor’s Mindset • My own work is my number one priority. • I should always work to have the right answer. • My validation comes from the recognition of my performance.
Team Contributor’s Mindset • My number one priority is getting results for my team. • My role is to help my team find answers to problems. • My validation comes from the performance of my team and the growth of my people.
Learn to see which mindset is needed and keep up the great work!
