Memorial Day for Battalion/Single Staff
Lunch next Monday, May 31 will be served at the lakefront at 12:00 Noon. (Watermelon, Chopped Brisket Sandwiches, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Peach Cobbler, and Vanilla Ice Cream). Single staff is welcome to join the Battalion for this lunch as long as they do not linger after the meal so the battalion can be free to continue with the day's activities. A clipboard will be available for single staff to add their name for meal billing accuracy.

Dinner on that day will be sack meals. If you aren't in the Battalion and would like a sack dinner, please talk to Charissa.

Unit 63 Graduation
Seating for next weekend's banquet will be assigned. Please RSVP by this Friday if you plan to attend. Regular staff meal pricing will apply.
Library News
The library will be open on Wednesday afternoon, 1:30 – 4:00. A large number of children’s books—all thoroughly vetted—are now available for checkout. These books include Bible story books for all ages, a variety of colorful and interesting early education books, and a student dictionary in 6 volumes, illustrated, copyright 1961.
Leadership Corner: Starting and Finishing
Sometimes you don’t have to finish, but you do have to start. Other times, you don’t have to start, but if you do, you have to finish. When building a personal habit, it may make sense to embrace the first rule—you don’t have to run all the way, every day, but you do have to get out of the house and start running. However, when making promises to a group where trust matters, the second rule definitely applies. We didn't have to start this semester... but we did. So let's finish it well. Keep up the amazing work and "Forge On!"
Battalion Update
Can you believe this Spring quarter is almost over? On one hand, this is hard for us to imagine. On the other hand, we are worn and looking forward to the break. Wednesday of this week, both CST and Cadre will be leaving on deployment. Cadre will be headed to Indiana for a service project with a ministry there. CST will be going with Captain Vanderford to support the Texas Home School Coalition convention in Woodlands, TX and to promote the ALERT programs there. There are lots of things to accomplish this week and next, so it will be a very full time for the battalion.

Prayer Requests:
  • Good recall for EMTs (final test end of this week)
  • Safety and prosperous deployment trips
  • God's continued work in each man as they leave
Basic Training Clean Up
Unit 64 has been secured! Thank you to every who helped us make this happen. Thank you to everyone who came out last Friday to support the Unit in their accomplishment of finishing Basic Training. This week the Cadre will be spending Monday and Tuesday cleaning up and debriefing from Basic. We will then head out for the rest of the week on deployment. Please let Lt. O'Neal know if there is anything out of place around campus that needs our attention. Thanks again for all the prayers and support.
