Thank You Thank you for your diligent work during the conference! So many families commented on how meaningful this week was for them. We have already been receiving comments on how God is working in lives through the truth that was shared. Thank you for your excellent service! |
| National Day of Prayer On Thursday, May 5, we will join other believers on the National Day of Prayer with our own noon time gathering to praise God for all He has done, and to continue interceding for many needs.
This will also be our ministry-wide day of prayer and fasting for the month of May. There are many ministry situations and people with special needs that we will share and pray for on that day.

| Hymn Playing Workshop Hymn Playing Workshop is taking place on campus this week! Students will be using the Auditorium and practice rooms in the Classroom building. Staff are welcome to join the students for a simple closing concert in the Auditorium, Sunday, May 8, 3:00—3:45pm. Reception to follow.

| Battalion Update Battalion did a great job serving in various capacities last week in support of the Family Conference, from kitchen duty to ALERT Cadet Challenge to cleaning bathhouses. Two of our flight students were able to do a cross-country flight to Virginia and back over the weekend, combining training with a significant family event. Besides EMTs being in Longview for clinicals one day, this will be a relatively normal week back in the classroom. There is a neat possibility that God has brought along for Missions class to go on an overseas trip. Please pray that God will give clear direction and work the details out if the trip is His will. |
| Basic Training Update Unit 66 ventures into its sixth week of training and will be participating in its hardest event so far: The 24 Hour Endurance Hike. Lord willing the Unit will head out Monday afternoon for Oklahoma, start the hike early Tuesday and be back by Wednesday afternoon. Please be in prayer for the men and us as their leadership that we would have great weather, that we would stay healthy and safe, and that we would all finish well.

| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden With an organization structured like ours, I have found it very easy for my heart and mind to slide into a "prideful posture." With every "thank you" we get, with every promotion we receive, with every advancement we complete—what happens in our hearts?
"It is an old and common saying that 'coming events cast their shadows before them.' The wise man teaches us that a haughty heart is the precursor of evil. Pride is as clearly the sign of destruction as the change of mercury in the barometer is the sign of rain.... If we forget to live at the foot of the cross in deepest lowliness of spirit, God will not forget to discipline us for our good. A destruction will come to you, O unduly exalted believer, the destruction of your joys and of your comforts, although there can be no destruction of your soul. Therefore, 'Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'" - C. H. Spurgeon
