Special Morning Prayer Time Invitation | Dr. Levendusky
I have been reading a book on significant revivals in history and am impressed with how important a foundation of simple prayer among God’s people is to this work of spiritual revival.

I would like to call anyone who would like to join in a voluntary special prayer time at 5 AM for three days this week, Wednesday, May 18 through Friday, May 20. We will meet for one hour at the Administration Building. Special prayer requests and important information will be shared each morning pertaining to prayer for all who can attend.

More details will be shared at noon prayer times. Please pray about joining in this special time of seeking the Lord.

Music Courses
Summer music courses are just around the corner! Staff/staff families can receive an additional 20% off. Pricing and registration can be found here; use coupon code STAFF20OFF for your 20% discount! Course auditing options are also available for a reduced rate. If you are interested in observing day classes, or have any other questions, contact Anna at music@iblp.org.
Battalion Update
EMT students will be rotating through clinical shifts for most of this week and will spend the rest of their time studying for the final test. The Missions class left mid-morning on their way to Poland, where they will serve for almost two weeks. Flight students have lost a little bit of flight time due to maintenance issues, so they will be working hard to make up for that. We are in the 9th week of the quarter, and the students and volunteers are feeling drained from the various challenges that come along with spending four months in the battalion. Please pray for motivation and for them to have a good perspective as they walk through the final three weeks of the quarter.
Basic Training Update
This coming week the men will be participating in their Solo Hike as well as The Basic Responder Challenge from Wednesday through Friday. During these two events, the men will be tested in almost every area of training that they have received thus far. Pray for the men that they will continue to push themselves all the way to the end of Basic Training and not miss the lessons they have yet to learn.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
I have been recently reminded that conflict is part of life. To be human is to live on some level with the reality of conflict. We all have opinions and feelings and vantage points. It doesn’t all have to be bad, though. Conflict can also be an opportunity for growth. Here are five steps to guide that process.

1. STOPStop for a moment, and resist the urge to do or say something. And while you’re pausing, be mindful of your facial expressions. Our nonverbals say a lot.

2. PROBE. Try to understand things from the other person’s perspective. The more you understand, the better you can ultimately resolve the situation. Use questions to learn more, like, “Can you tell me more about that?” or, “Why was that so problematic for you?”

3. ACKNOWLEDGE. Acknowledge the difficulty of sharing hard things, and affirm the other person. There’s huge healing power in this. Treat the other person like they’ve shared a gift with you. Because as hard as it was for them to share it, and as difficult as it was for you to hear it, it’s a good thing you did hear it.

4. CONFESSAcknowledge and affirm what you’ve done that was wrong. It might sound like this: “I’m so sorry I did [this].” Use the same words you were approached with. This helps the other person feel validated and heard. We have to communicate we understand the impact of our actions, not that we just understand what we did.

5. EXPLAIN. The first four steps above have nothing to do with you explaining anything. However, sometimes it is important to clear up misunderstandings because those misunderstandings can be legitimate. It’s not about making yourself right; it’s about providing clarity. - Michael Hyatt
