Thank you!
A big thank you to everyone who supported the conference this week: our staff, volunteers, battalion, and especially our staff families who worked day and night behind the scenes. We can't thank you enough for your support.

As you process how last week went for you as an individual or for your team as a department, please let us know if you have any feedback on areas that should be improved or things that went well. We're looking forward to hearing from you!
Morning Staff Meeting Update
We will start the Financial Freedom Seminar as a staff on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Monday's will remain staff testimonies. All of our families are invited to these staff meetings.
EMT Scenarios
The Medical Department is looking for anyone who would be willing to be a patient for the EMT Unit on Thursday, May 18. Scenarios will be spread throughout the day and into the evening. An individual patient can expect to be involved for 1 to 2 hours. They are looking for all age ranges to give the EMT's experience in assessing different people. Anyone who is interested can contact Capt. Harman or SFC Kaiser.

Battalion Update | SMaj. Hawley
On Saturday evening, only a few hours after a tornado ripped through the area, the Battalion responded to the Canton area ready to assist wherever they could. They spent most of the night working into the early hours of Sunday, cutting up and clearing downed trees and scattered debris from several roads. They helped to reopen the roads after the storm had completely closed them down. God was good and the night went very well with the Battalion working quickly, safely, and effectively the entire time. In this coming week we will most likely be sending out another team to help as needed in the cleanup effort.

Also, please remember the EMT's as they will be starting their clinical training this week. That they would have good opportunities to both learn their skills as they glean from these experiences and that they would be bold witnesses to anyone they interact with in the field.

Later this week the Dive group will be heading down to Miami for a few weeks to do their dive training. Please pray for their safety on the roads and in the water.

As a Battalion we have spent some time over the last few weeks discussing the importance of the “end times” from a biblical perspective—primarily focused on how the truth of heaven, eternity, and the return of Christ Jesus should shape our lives and perspectives here today. With this in mind, and with the goal of “Forging Extraordinary Men who influence their world for Christ,” I was reminded of the following quotes that I would like to share with you:

“If you read history you will find that Christians who did the most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next... It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. Aim at Heaven and you will get earth 'thrown in': aim at earth and you will get neither.” Mere Christianity,
C.S. Lewis

“If your life or my life is going to count on earth, we must start by concentrating on heaven!” Radical, David Platt
Basic Training Update | Capt. Boulden
Another week down and the Unit progresses well. The Unit had a good week living out in the woods and taking their various classes on survival skills.

This coming week will hold one of the most challenging aspects of Basic Training. This of course being the Unit Endurance 24 Hour Hike. We will leave this afternoon for the hills of Oklahoma and camp out tonight. The Unit will start hiking Tuesday morning starting around 6:30 am. From there we will hike until approximately the same time the next morning.

The rest of the week the men will be engaging in evangelism classes and search and rescue training. Please pray for the overall health of the Unit as some of the men have come down with pneumonia. Pray also that all the men who start the hike would finish it well and that we would have good weather and safety during this time off campus.
