Battalion Update
The battalion is deployed this week to various responsibilities for the Family Conference. Captain Vanderford and the EMT unit were in Dallas Thursday-Saturday last week supporting the Texas Homeschool Coalition convention. The staff team was overflowing with gratitude for the work the guys did. As we quickly approach the end of the quarter (less than 6 weeks away) please pray for God to bring transformation in the men’s lives that only He can. Please also pray for the men to maintain a healthy balance between their studies and battalion disciplines.
Basic Training Update
The men of Unit 66 will spend the week living and training across the lake. They will be living in handmade shelters and catching and cooking their own food along with taking classes in primitive Fire Building, Water Purification, and River Crossing. Please pray the men would stay healthy during this time and that they would learn valuable lessons in perspective and delayed gratification.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
On our staff outing last week, we talked about smartphone use and trying to find the balance between what we "need" from our phones and not being ruled by them. As we train our students in how to "use their times wisely," we must make sure we model what we preach. This article on Smartphone Addiction provides helpful thoughts on making sure that we don't become "slaves" to these amazing tools. "Our phones had 'leashes' and we were free. Now our phones are free and we have leashes."
