In the Gap Leadership Seminar
There will be a special leadership seminar held in the ALERT Auditorium Monday, April 24 from 6:30-8:30 pm. It is specifically directed to young people, giving them tools to be ministers of Christ in their communities, but anyone is welcome. Guests coming from off campus will use the main entrance where there will be maps ready for them at the Welcome Center/Guard Shack to guide them directly to the ALERT Auditorium.
Staff Movie Night
We are so grateful for all your hard work this week as we all host these families for a time of encouragement and fellowship. In appreciation of your diligence, everyone is invited to join us for a relaxing movie night with ice cream, peach cobbler, and popcorn, Saturday, April 29 at 6:00 pm in the ALERT Auditorium.
Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah
Miss Blair invites anyone who is interested to Felix Mendelssohn’s great oratorio Elijah next Tuesday, May 2 at 7:30 pm. The concert will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 906 Padon Street (near Good Shepherd Medical Center) and given by the East Texas Community Chorus, members of the Longview Symphony Orchestra, and four professional soloists. The concert is free – no tickets or reservations required, but you will want to arrive early to get a good seat – and to enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows of this church.
EMT Scenarios
The Medical Department is looking for anyone who would be willing to a patient for the EMT Unit on Thursday, May 18. Scenarios will be spread throughout the day and into the evening. An individual patient can expect to be involved for 1 to 2 hours. They are looking for all age ranges to give the EMT's experience in assessing different people. Anyone who is interested can contact Capt. Harman or SFC Kaiser.
Basic Training Update | Capt. Boulden
Basic Training continues to move forward quickly with the completion of week four. The Unit successfully completed the 12 hour hike and once again grew tremendously from the experience.

This coming week is the Unit's Survival Week Training. We will be across the lake for the duration of the week. The men will be taking classes in Food Collections, Fire Building, Shelter Building, Traps and Snares, Advanced River Crossing, Animal Field Dressing, and Advanced Navigation techniques.

Please be in prayer that the men would stay healthy throughout this week as they live in the field. Pray that this would be a more restful time for the men as they learn the skills and that the Leadership would continue to stay focused on the mission at hand and not loose sight of the end goal. Thank you again for all your prayers and support!
