Bicycle Sale
Operations will be selling some of the bicycles from the Bike Shop and would like to make these available to those on campus first. There are around 50 bicycles available, ranging in size from tricycles to 26 inch adult bikes. For those who are interested, there is also the opportunity to build your own bike from the many parts available. The sale will be held this Friday, March 8, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on the north side of the Convention Center. There are also extra helmets, tubes and rims that can purchased. If you have additional questions, please contact Capt. Warner.
Missing Work Table
The Sewing Room is missing their work table that was located in the NW Field House/Gym Lobby. It's a 4x8 piece of plywood on a 2x4 frame covered in off-white canvas. Please contact Mrs. Burch if you may know of its whereabouts.
Cathie's Courage Marathon
Sign up today for Cathie's Courage Marathon! Shirts will be ordered tomorrow.
Caleb Nelson Memorial Race
The Caleb Nelson Memorial Race will be held next Tuesday, March 12 at 8:00 AM. They are planning on shorting the swim due to hypothermia concerns. Race check-in begins at 7:30. Sign up sheets in the Dining Room for any staff/battalion who wish to participate. Staff are also invited to cheer the men on. If you have additional questions, please contact the SMaj department.
SOWERs Roundup
The SOWERs will be hosting their yearly Round Up, March 24–27. Lew Sterrett will be the guest speaker and everyone is invited to participate as they are able!
Shooting Range Closed
We are grateful that the Texas Forest Service has agreed to work with the Rangers to improve our shooting range. While this work is in progress, the shooting range will be closed. Because shooting at the power lines is not a safe alternative, please refrain from target practice on campus until further notice.
Staff Sale
For those of you who would like to start going through your homes, the Weiss' are planning on doing another multi-family garage sale sometime this spring. Exact date and details to come.
Journey to the Heart
The Journey to the Heart office is excited to invite any staff young people to attend the Big Sandy Journeys in the spring of 2019 at no cost. We hope this invitation gives interested individuals enough time to arrange their schedules for the new year. If you would like to participate, please contact Gabe Cleator at ext. 2152 or email gcleator@iblp.org.
Battalion Update | Maj. Boulden
ERT will continue to be divided up this week with one half of them on Deployment in Panama City and the other half doing Leadership Training and Fire Fighting Classes. MRT will continue in Panama City with ERT until Saturday, mostly doing chainsaw work and tree clean up. LRD class will have a week full of different guest instructors coming in to share their testimonies and life lessons with the men. EMT's will be on deployment as well through most of the week. They will continue classes, review, and test taking upon their return.
Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
I often find myself worrying and planning and thinking about tomorrow at the loss of the time that I have today. We cannot change what happened yesterday and we are not promised tomorrow. But we have been given today. Let's not just "plan" to be better one day. Let's be those things now. Let's use the time God has given us—today. Learn more about The Value of Today.
