Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
The first two weeks of the quarter have gone very well and both guys and instructors are settling into a good rhythm. Construction will leave Thursday and will be gone for two weeks on a trip that will include training as well as service for a Teen Challenge location in Maine. EMT students are well into their class material but still have lots more to learn before they begin clinicals and start to work toward their final exam! The flight students are doing well, but it is going to be challenging to get in the necessary flight time around the weather and other variables. Missions has been able to benefit from several guest instructors, and is beginning to study introductory Spanish in preparation for their trip to Chiapas near the end of the quarter. Dive has had a very busy schedule between regular class, diving, and guest instructors (that included some weekend class this past week). Please pray for the details of Construction's trip, excellent understanding for EMTs, God's heart for the world for Missions, good weather and safety for Flight, and safety and personal growth for Aquatics.
Basic Training Update | Maj. Boulden
All of the men for Unit 68 arrived safely for Basic Training last Thursday. After three days of In-Processing, the men will start their official training this evening at 6:30 in the gym. This is an open event, so please feel free to come out and support the new Unit. The rest of the week will be spent moving in, learning all the rules and regulations, and starting their baseline navigation and rope skills classes. Please pray for us and the men under our care.
