Caleb Nelson Memorial Race
The Caleb Nelson Memorial Race is coming up this Saturday, March 6. Check-in will be at 5:45 and the race is scheduled to begin at 6:15. We would love to have any staff guys join us in the race, and would love for all of you to come out and encourage the contestants at the start/finish line and at other points along the route. Please contact Phillip or Marcus for more information if you would like to participate in either of these ways.
Samuel Kane Open House
You are invited to a come and go open house in honor of Samuel Kane upon completion of his paramedic (NREMT-P) training, Saturday, March 6 from 2–4 PM in the Formal Dining Room.
Memorization Challenge
We hope many of you had a great time focusing on love from 1 Corinthians 13 and 1 John 4 during February. If you recited either of the complete chapters for the first time or both full chapters (even if it wasn't your first time) by the deadline of last night, February 28, please contact Jeff Bedford to claim your prize.
Blood & Plasma Drive Update | Capt. Vanderford
The final blood drive for this winter will be on Saturday afternoon, March 6. No one is signed up yet, and I would love to collect at least 14 units of blood. If you didn’t get to donate last month, please sign up here, and come donate Saturday afternoon. Even though they will be collecting the COVID-19 convalescent plasma to treat people who are struggling, the blood drive will operate just like a normal drive. They will collect units of whole blood and will separate it in the lab into the various components to use in different ways.
Singspiration
We will be hosting another Singspiration this Sunday, March 7 at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium. We will also enjoy an additional Singspiration (and fellowship time) at the end of this month in conjunction with the SOWER's Reunion on March 28. Stay tuned for details!

If you have special music you would like to share for either of these events, please contact Capt. Vanderford. If you are sharing an instrumental number, we'd like to encourage you to either read some of the words out loud, or let people know where to find the words in their hymnals so they can follow along as you play. Looking forward to this time of worship!

Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
As we start to make the shift from one semester to the next it can be very tempting to neglect our most valuable resource—yourself. Not taking care of yourself can cause you to become burnt out and resentful. To make things worse, we can avoid taking care of ourselves out of fear that we're being too selfish, wasting time, or that our efforts "won't go well." This fear won't help us. Instead, ask another question: Who benefits from my health? The answer: everyone!
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
The big news from last week is that the 17-hour Gauntlet took place on Friday. The event is huge and includes activities ranging from three-legged soccer, to sorting pennies, to solving math problems, to traversing the lake on a home-built raft – and many other exciting and challenging events. If you want to hear some fun stories, ask the guys next time you get the chance.

The end of the quarter is rapidly approaching and will be here in less than 3 weeks. Please pray that 1) the men who are still trying to determine their next step will keep the right priorities and have wisdom as they make plans, 2) that these last 3 weeks will be a good time of growth for each of the men in the battalion, and 3) for God's guidance for ALERT staff we make preparations for next quarter.
