| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden In this work that God has called us to, all of us find ourselves in dozens of "counseling" situations on any given week. Sometimes any given day. These are great opportunities, but they can also be daunting—and if we are not careful—even damaging to those that seek us out.
Here are eight reminders to keep in mind— 1. Problems take effort to figure out. 2. People see their problems rightly and wrongly. 3. You are called to personal ministry of the Word. 4. More than problem-solving, help them understand and change their responses. 5. People need to view their problems from God’s perspective. 6. You can accomplish more than you realize with both ears and your Bible open. 7. Acknowledge when a person needs help beyond what you can offer. 8. God’s hidden purposes in people’s lives unfold over a lifetime, and not just in your ministry moment. (Jeremy Pierre, read more at 8 Things to Know About Counselling) You and I are not the beginning and the end of change in someone else’s life. We are just tools in the master's hands. We are not the forger. So keep calm and trust the actual "Forger" in His process.
