White Oak Rd Crossing | Capt. Overby
After meeting with Upshur County Road and Bridge at their request concerning drainage problems on White Oak Rd, they have instructed us to no longer use any motorized vehicles to cross the drainage ditches on either side of the road. Motorized vehicles (including ATV, motorcycles, and UTV) should use the paved crossing at Orange Grove Blvd to prevent erosion and damage to the drainage ditches on both sides of the road. Upshur County Road and Bridge will be working with us in the coming year to install culverts in the three locations that we use, but until that happens later this year, we have been instructed to only use those crossings for foot traffic and bicycles. Thank you for helping us keep good relations with Upshur County and our community.
Caleb Nelson Memorial Race
The Caleb Nelson Memorial Race is scheduled for March 4. Those who wish to participate will need to recite Psalm 91 and write (or have previously written) a 200-word essay on the chapter. If you are not interested in racing but still want to be involved, we would love help with cheering on the racers and could use a little bit of help with race support as well. If you have any questions, please contact SMAJ Whitaker.
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
Our flight student is the only Battalion guy still on campus this week. L&C arrived safely in the DC area last night, and will be touring in and around the city this week, returning next Sunday night. Both halves of 2nd Phase have done a week of deployment and completed the first week of dive training in which they become certified through NAUI as Advanced Open Water SCUBA divers. They are all together in Miami this week to receive Special Response Diver training through SRDI. Please pray for God to be doing work in the lives of the men, and for endurance and wisdom for each leader as they continue to invest in the men and point them toward Jesus.
