As you "shut down" for the remainder of the year, make sure you use this time to remind yourself: your identity is not connected to the total sum of the projects you did or didn't get done this past year, how many hours you worked, the rank you wore, the position you held, or the number of men helped forge.
Your identity is connected to the one and only thing that will never change - the person, Jesus Christ! He is the only one who gets a "say" on your identity. He uses words to describe you like "forgiven," "son," and "daughter". He has come to give you life and give it to you abundantly. And when the Son set you free... you are free indeed! Let that be the only bedrock of who we are. Rest in Him and have a Merry Christmas!
