Mayflower Minutes
Born in Mainland China, this young woman was adopted and moved to the United States as a young teenager. Upon hearing of the Chinese refugees who arrived on campus last Spring, she left her job to volunteer and serve the Mayflower Church. Since then, she has faithfully translated for IBLP, Freedom Seekers International (FSI), and helped with the general care and interactions of the Mayflower Group (MFG) in our American society. For over six months, Sara Lowman interceded for hospital patients, translated weekly meetings, went to work with MFG members as they interacted with their bosses, and alerted leaders to various emergencies or needs that the MFG experienced. Sara returned to New Hampshire this past Sunday. We pray that the Lord will continue to lead and guide Sara as she returns home and begins this new life chapter.
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
Aquatics and Tech Rescue are both out for most of this week. Aquatics is in the Pensacola area to learn and practice some advanced dive skills such as deep diving and Nitrox. Tech Rescue will be at Mount Magazine State Park in Arkansas for some advanced rope rescue scenarios. Missions and Construction are both in class on campus this week. God provided beautiful weather for the “October Breeze” on Saturday morning, which began at about 12:15 AM and finished shortly before 9:00. The event was grueling, but every man finished, and we are well on our way to recovering. Please pray that the Battalion leadership will find and use the opportunities that God provides for deeper conversations in these final two weeks and that the changes occurring in the men’s lives will be heart-level changes that continue to affect them after they leave.
Basic Training Update | Capt. Hawley
Five days and counting! The days are long, but the weeks are short in Basic Training. This week will mainly consist of the Unit's preparation for Advancement Day on Friday. Thank you for your prayers and support during these last eight weeks of training for Unit 69. They have been very much appreciated.
