Auto Shop Notice
Due to a funeral, the Auto Shop will remain closed through Tuesday. Ross will reopen on Wednesday. Next week, the Auto Shop will be closed on Friday, November 16, so please turn in any needed vehicle requests by Thursday, Nov. 15 at noon. Capt. Veterans and Advancement Banquet
Please review the Event Summary for Staff/Department requirements. All staff is asked to help participate in cleaning up the Dining Room and Gym, and helping in the dish pit after both of these events. Veterans Banquet Servers, Choir Members, and others who would otherwise not get food during the banquet, will be able to eat an early banquet meal in the Basic Training Dining Room at 5:00 PM prior to the evening's festivities so that the Kitchen can start putting away food directly after serving.
Singspiration
There will be a Singspiration this Sunday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 PM in the ALERT Auditorium. If you have special music that you would be willing to share, please contact Christina Friedli at cfriedli@iblp.org.
Missing in Action
The Kitchen is missing a blue-grey cart and nice red push brooms (which should be labeled "Kitchen"). With the upcoming events the Kitchen would really appreciate having these items back. Also, if you have noticed anything that belongs to the Kitchen that is currently out of place, they would appreciate it being brought back before the end of the year.
October Meal Summary
We have combined the 2 monthly billings for October into one summary. Please look over the meal summary and let us know if a scan is missing or needs to be adjusted. One of our scanners died during Tuesday, October 16's Community Night BBQ. If you ate this meal and didn't see it on your summary, please let us know and we can add this meal to your account.
Hunting
All staff wishing to hunt are required to text Maj. Horsman the day prior to hunting with the stand location and approximate start time in the woods. On campus TPWD deer tags can be picked up anytime from Maj. Horsman. All hikers wanting to go north of the lake, east to the farm ponds, or into Area 13, please wear bright colored clothing in the woods or on the trails.
Family Matters Weekend at FBC, Gladewater
Join Dr. Scheibner this weekend at First Baptist Church in Gladewater for messages on "Marriage with Meaning" and "Parenting with Purpose." If you are interested, please contact Capt. Switzer for additional information.
Leadership Corner | Capt. Boulden
As things become more and more chaotic, it's easy to let out first reactions be bad ones. Here are a few ways we can work to manage our reactions: 1. Force yourself to sleep on it. 2. Stop and listen to other perspectives. 3. Consult with people for accountability before you act. 4. Jot down all the details regarding the decision. 5. Find your “why” before you respond. 6. Be the devil’s advocate. 7. Ask a patient person what they would do. More on Managing Impulsive Reactions
Basic Training Update | Capt. Boulden
4 days and counting! Unit 60 successfully completed their Basic Responder Challenge with flying colors amidst the rain and cold. This is their final week of training. It will consist of practicing for their Skills Demonstration, Drill and Stage Ceremony.

All active and reserve officers are invited to join us for the Officers Reception on Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 3:30 PM in the Gym to fellowship and encourage the men of Unit 60. Advancement Day will begin on Friday, Nov. 9 at 1:30 pm. You can preview the entire schedule here. Please feel free to come out and support these men their accomplishment of finishing Basic Training.

Thank you again for all of your prayers and support you have all given to Basic Training over the past weeks and months. We would not have been successful without them.
