| Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
Whether we realize it or not we as leaders have it in our power to "pay" those who work for us. Whether they are volunteers or not, we have "currencies" at our disposal that need to be used early and often.
1. Gratitude. Simply say, “Thank you.” Most people aren’t thanked for what they do. Your volunteers showed up to serve. Whatever it is, thank them for doing it. If you don’t say so in person, send them a card or an email.
2. Empowerment. Equip and empower your team. Allow them to make decisions. If you have the right people doing the right thing and you’re clear about the mission, vision, and strategy, then they’ll do better things than you can do.
3. Trust. Choose trust. If you’re suspicious, your team won’t feel confident in their responsibilities. If you trust people, then they’ll thrive. It communicates, “You’re smart. You’re intelligent. I will be here to help and support you, but you’ve got this. I trust you.”
Whether people ever draw a salary or not, paying them with gratitude, empowerment, and trust motivates them.

| Basic Training Update | Maj. Boulden
And we're done! 65 more men added to our ranks and forged for the kingdom! Thank you so much to everyone that helped us pull off another amazing Advancement Day and to everyone who was able to attend! As we prepare to clean up and shut things down these next two weeks, please let Lt. O'Neal or myself know if there is anything that needs the Basic Training Department's attention and we will make it happen. Thanks again for all the prayers and support over the last 10 weeks! It has been very much appreciated. |
