Battalion Cookout Everyone is invited to join the Battalion for dinner and a fun evening together on Friday, January 13, at 6 PM outside the Field House (or inside the Dining Room if the weather is unpleasant). Dress warmly! (Gym attire that fits the campus dress code is appropriate for this event.)
Families, please bring two (2) side dishes adequate to serve twice the number of your family members. Singles, please bring a large bag of your favorite chips. Everyone is welcome to bring their favorite lawn games or board games to share. (No face cards, please.) Please contact Phillip Vanderford with further questions. |
| Birthday Lunch and Promotions Our first Birthday Lunch of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, in conjunction with ALERT's Promotion Ceremony. Hope you can join us! |
| Thursday/Friday Prayer Time The Cadet Leadership Summit will be using the Formal Dining Room, Thursday–Saturday. Because of this, Thursday/Friday's prayer time will be moved into the Dining Room. |
| Complimentary Staff Meals We have updated the link below with the complimentary staff meals for 2023. Please let us know if you have further questions. |
| Self-Defense Course Dan Bertin will be on campus to teach an all-day self-defense course on January 21. Topics covered include awareness/avoidance, legal/ethical use of force, de-escalation, combative mindset, controlling distance, striking, counter-grappling, and basic 3rd party protection.
His rates are regularly $125/person, but he's willing to do a one-time, set amount for the ministry, and the more people who are interested, the less it will be. With the current interest, we may be able to get it down to just $70/person! (Please note that due to some of the more mature content discussed for situational awareness, it is advised that children attending be 16+, or at parents' discretion).
If you are interested or have further questions, please contact Kendalyn soon at kendalynk@gmail.com or 775-842-7620. Deadline for RSVP is January 12.

| Battalion Update Battalion got off to a great start on Saturday with 36 men in 2nd Phase, seven in Leadership & Communications, and one flight student working toward his commercial rating. Today, 2nd Phase will be focused on orientation, but by tomorrow they should be mostly up to speed and settling into the rhythm of training.
Please be in prayer: - that each leader and each student will pursue Christ as his top priority - that God will grant the leadership great wisdom as they seek to lead the men well - for God to do a great work in the lives of the men in training - for health for the Battalion as winter is historically a tough time with sickness
