Welcome Micaiah!
With great joy, Kyle and Liesy welcomed Micaiah [Born of God, 2 Chron. 18] Matthew [Gift from YAHWEH] Turnbull, Friday, January 22 at 5:34 pm. He made a speedy entry into this world with only his daddy present. He weighs 7.2 lbs. and is 19 3/4 inches long. "We know and believe that everything went so well because our dear Lord was pleased to answer so many prayers on our behalf. We are very grateful for you all. What a gift it is to be a part of this campus family — Christ’s family." If you would like to provide a meal for the Turnbulls during this time, you can do so here
Welcome Hope!

Blood Drive February 6 | Capt. Vanderford
With a shortage of donated blood nationwide, we have had reports that the blood bank shelves have been "nearly empty" to the point that it is scary. If you are able to donate and can clear your schedule, please seriously consider participating. There are 31 appointments — let's fill them all! 16 year-olds must have written permission from their parents to donate. You will also need to bring a photo ID. Please sign up online here
NCFCA Judges Needed!
NCFCA is excited to finally be able to host an in-person qualifier since COVID irrupted last year. Many judges are needed and they would greatly appreciate your participation! You will need to login/create an account online; under "Upcoming Opportunities," select "All Events">"Texas".
David Barton Message
This message by David Barton was given at a church in Texas two weeks ago. It is a challenge and encouragement for our ministries to continue serving and seeking the Lord. Our staff will be watching the video in 20-minute segments on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during staff prayer time. Staff is welcome to view it from their homes as well.

Leadership Corner | Maj. Boulden
As we continue to move forward in our work, there is one thing we can count on following close behind every significant change we make—drama. Drama is a fact of life. We have disagreements and differences of opinion. That’s to be expected. But unnecessary drama usually exists when a person is trying to bring attention to themselves. Drama is how some people accomplish their agenda. How do we deal with this drama when it rears its ugly head?

1. Admit your mistakes and take responsibility for your actions. Easier said and written than done, but with vulnerability comes power.

2. Declare your intent. “Nearly all, if not all, conflict in life comes from mismatched or unfulfilled expectations.” Be sure the next time you’re in a drama-prone situation, calmly state up-front what your intent is.

3. Listen empathically. Try to consciously talk less. Become more mindful of closing your lips and concentrating on what the other person is saying, and with all your might, resist the temptation to interrupt, correct, clarify, challenge, or respond.

4. Assume good intent in others. Most people are well-intended but misunderstood because they lack the skills or maturity to express their emotions or desires.
Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford
This has been a good second week for the battalion, all things considered. We have had some sickness in the battalion this week, so there are definitely challenges in dealing with that well.

Most of 2nd Phase is on deployment in Lake Charles and DeQuincy, Louisiana until Wednesday night. One contingent remained on campus and got the beta version of a life purpose class that we’ve been developing over the past year or so. The men on deployment are doing well. I was able to lead the team in Lake Charles last week, and was able to witness their hard work which has been a big blessing to the Samaritan’s Purse long-term staff. There were also at least 3 people who accepted Christ down there last week. This is a huge reward for us!

Leadership class and CST have been working hard on projects and classwork. Please keep us all in your prayers. Pray specifically for unity, wisdom for each of us in leadership, for hearts to be receptive to the work God desires to do in making us more like Christ, health for the battalion, and wisdom as we address the sickness.
