| Battalion Update | Capt. Vanderford First off, I would like to say a big "thank you" to each person who brought food and spent time visiting with the Battalion on Friday evening. It was a great time, and I was really happy to see so many interactions between staff and students. I think this kind of interaction is healthy for both the students and the staff, so I'd love to see purposeful interactions continuing throughout the quarter.
For the new Battalion members, last week was full of learning new routines and building new habits. All in all, it was a very smooth first week, and we are encouraged by the desire for growth that we see in the unit. Leadership & Communications covered Biblical interpretation and began their class with Miss Blair. This coming week, 2nd Phase will be doing Sawyer class, so soon, they will be all over campus dropping trees and hauling wood. Please pray for us that God will equip and strengthen the leadership for the tasks He has for us and that He will work in both students and leaders to make us more like Him.
