Subject: Update about Summer Youth Programs

Dear Camp Families,

Camp Omega’s staff and Board of Directors, after prayerful deliberation, have made the heartbreaking decision to cancel all residential youth camp programs for the entire summer of 2020. Under the guidelines provided by the MN Department of Health and the CDC, the leadership of Camp Omega felt the ability to keep people safe while operating a place of close interactions and community that is camp, is not possible.

This summer is going to look different at camp—but the mission hasn’t changed. While we cannot offer youth programs, we are able to expand the family camp programming beyond the month of June and into July and August. Families and small groups can come to camp and stay in a cabin, outpost village, tent, or RV. Summer staff will be hosting families' camp activities in a modified schedule, providing safe opportunities to experience camp. Jesus demonstrated during His ministry on earth the importance of taking time away from labor and spending quiet time in the Word and in prayer. If you are feeling weary, stir-crazy, or burdened consider retreating to Camp Omega and let us share the love of Jesus with you!

Cancelling summer youth camp comes at a cost, though a worthwhile one, given the current conditions. Summer programming accounts for a significant portion of camp’s annual income. Limiting youth programming will have a significant impact on camp’s finances not only for this summer but also for years to come. To help mitigate the impact and ensure camp’s financial stability, we ask you to prayerfully consider donating all or a portion of your registration fees. Your gift will support camp’s dynamic and active ministry and provide much-needed financial stability through this time of uncertainty.

We understand that the pandemic is not only impacting camp financially but is also impacting many of camp's supporters and families. With this in mind, camper parents and adult leaders may request to have their registration funds transferred to a 2021 event or request a partial or full refund.

To recap, if you are registered for a session that has been cancelled, your registration fees options are as follows:

1) Transfer your payments to a family camp session.

2) Authorize Camp Omega to hold your payments and apply toward a summer 2021 event.

3) Donate your payment to camp to assist with continued costs and to maintain camp for future summers.

4) Request a partial or full refund, including your deposit.

5) Combine any of the above options, e.g., donate part of your deposit and receive a refund for the other part.

Please note that refunds will take time. Camp Omega will be processing many registration changes. The camp staff will do their best to process all requests as soon as possible, however, we are sure to experience glitches along the way. We plead for your patience. The goal is to have all refunds processed by early fall.

All requests with regards to registration fees must be received in writing by emailing info@campomega.org. Any questions or concerns can also be directed to info@campomega.org. When emailing, please use the format below to copy into an email to info@campomega.org

This summer is going to look different, but God’s faithfulness remains the same. Instead of giving in to fear, anxiety, or worry, hold on to this truth: God is good. While we don’t always understand His plan or how He will use this yet, we are putting our hope in the One who loves us. And we can’t wait for the day when we get to welcome you to camp once again.

God's blessings,

The Staff of Camp Omega
