Subject: A Summer Like None Other

Camp Omega

Enews!

Summer 2020 was like none other. Camp Omega was quieter than normal. There were no youth camps, no traveling day camp teams sent to Midwest congregations, no High School Youth Servant Leadership programs, no high ropes course or adventure programs, and less college-aged staff had the opportunity to serve. But it was still an amazing summer. To God Be The Glory!

God’s love never gives up and ministry happened! Families came and played, prayed, and sang alongside the summer staff. They experienced fun, friends, and faith in the beauty of camp with each other. They got away from the stresses, paused, breathed, grew in relationship, and were reminded of Christ’s promises and perfect love all while remaining COVID-19 free. And it was so amazing.

Our Lord continues to remind us of his incredible power and provision. Camp’s donors’ have been so very generous which allows camp to continue through this financial hardship. The summer staff worked through tough situations and gave God glory. Churches and families could utilize at home Day Camp resources if they weren't able to hold in-person Vacation Bible School. Youth groups that had planned on traveling across the county on national servant events were able to find meaningful service projects at their home camp.

Was it the summer we planned back in January? Absolutely not. Was it the summer we had hoped for? No way. Was the Lord present and at work, making Himself known and caring for his people? Yes, most certainly. And that's all that really matters.

Be strong and courageous.

Do not be afraid or terrified because of them,

for the LORD your God goes with you;

He will never leave you nor forsake.

- Deuteronomy 31:6

The Summer Fun Doesn't Stop!

Camp will continue to offer the chance for families, leadership retreats, and other small-group events to get away into the fall. It’s a blessing to continue to serve families and provide a retreat for those looking for a safe way to grow in relationship as a family and with God. Groups are welcome to stay in our cabins, retreat center, outpost villages, bring their own tent or self-contained RV, or come for the day!
