Subject: A Prayerful Decision Has Been Made

"God is good. While we don’t always understand His plan or how He will use this yet, we are putting our hope in the One who loves us."

Dear Camp Family,

Camp Omega’s staff and Board of Directors, after prayerful deliberation, have made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel all residential youth camp programs for the entire summer of 2020. Under the guidelines provided by the MN Department of Health and the CDC, the leadership of Camp Omega felt the ability to keep guests and staff safe while operating a place of close interactions and community that is camp, is not possible.

This summer is going to look different at camp—but the mission hasn’t changed. While we are unable to offer youth programs, we have expanded the family camp program beyond the month of June into July and August. Families and groups can come to camp and use a cabin, outpost village, tent, or RV and participate in the daily staff lead programmed activities. Summer staff will host families in camp lead activities under a modified schedule, providing safe opportunities to experience camp. Jesus demonstrated during His ministry on earth the importance of taking time away from labor and spending quiet time in the Word and in prayer. If you are feeling weary, stir-crazy, or burdened consider retreating to Camp Omega and let us care for you!

Camp Omega has been hit hard by the loss of revenue from the spring and summer seasons. While all non-essential expenses have been eliminated, it will be a long journey to financial stability. Many have already been responded with monetary donations to help weather this storm for which we are so very thankful. If you wish to assist, please visit Camp's Donor page to contribute. Thank you!

This summer is going to look different, but God’s faithfulness remains the same. Instead of giving in to fear, anxiety, or worry, hold on to this truth: God is good. While we don’t always understand His plan or how He will use this situation, we put our hope in the One who dearly loves us. And we can’t wait for the day we get to welcome you back to camp once again.

Stay safe, stay healthy, look out for your neighbor and trust Jesus,

Bob LaCroix, Executive Director
