I just want to share my very sincere gratitude to you for your interest, your support, your purchase, your emails and your faith in The Bum Gun during 2017.
And if I may, a small holiday message…
If you’re caught up in last minute shopping, facing crowds at your local shopping centre or stuck on internet shopping sites, wondering if they can deliver before Christmas Eve…
Or if you’re stuck in terrible traffic jams…
Or facing long lines and chaos at an airport, or if you’re simply feeling crushed by the pressure of the holidays, I’d like to offer this thought:
It’s true that Christmas is overly commercialized, that it can become way too stress-filled and overblown, that presents are often more about obligation than benevolence, and that Christmas promotions definitely start earlier and earlier every year…
I know you don’t want to hear Christmas carols being played in early November, neither do I….
But consider that all those people cramming the shopping centres and clogging the motorways and jostling onto airplanes and enduring long lines so their kids can talk to Santa are doing so in order to bring a bit of happiness to others.
Whatever motives may lie underneath, their actions are all driven by a desire to offer someone else a sign of their love or affection or gratitude. And to me, anything that instills that much generosity in all of us is something very special.
And remember, whether you’re commemorating Christmas or simply the beginning of a new year, each of those celebrations began with love for one another…. |
