I hereby declare that the wine must be Pinot Noir. | | Yes, Top Wines Originate In Rocky Terrain! | | | September 16th is Collect Rocks Day. OK, I know what you’re thinking. How can rock collecting be tied into wine? Well, it is easier than one may think. If one has paid attention to any wine snob, including myself, one would have heard us drone on and on about “Terroir”. “Terroir” means the complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate. This would include rocks. “Rocks!’ you exclaim. “Crops are planted in soil just like the definition says.” You proclaim. And in many instances you would be correct. But then there are the special areas where our rock collecting would come into play and is one of these areas on which we shall focus. | | |
