Shimon Machluf has joined HE Space as a Mission Performance Engineer in Earth Observation at ESTEC. He moved to The Netherlands from Israel with his family in 2015 to do a post-doctorate at the University of Amsterdam in Physics in the field of experimental ultra-cold atoms. After a few years, he left the academic world and worked in a couple of startups, before settling in Airbus. There he worked on the instrument simulator of the Sentinel-5 satellite, focusing mainly on the stray-light correction algorithm. Shimon has a strong background in research and development of novel and complex systems, including, models and experiments development, algorithms, and data analysis. Outside working hours, Shimon loves photographing, cooking, and eating. |
