On Tuesday, April 26th between 8-9 am PT (5-6 pm CET), four inspiring women in the #breakfreefromplastic movement will join the Center for Earth Ethics for a virtual dialogue about values, culture, spirituality, and the deep connections between plastic pollution and air quality in St. James Parish, Louisiana, U.S.

St. James Parish is a historically Black community in the heart of the region known as “Cancer Alley” – an 85-mile region containing more than 150 petrochemical plants and refineries that cause extremely high rates of cancer and health impacts from toxic pollution.

“A Consultation on Air” will be the first dialogue in a series to support the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. It will focus especially on petrochemical and plastic pollution in order to continue building momentum around the recent United Nations mandate calling for the development of a global treaty on plastics.
