New Report on Corporate False Solutions to the Plastic Pollution Crisis

Fast-Moving Consumer Goods companies (FMCGs) produce a staggering amount of plastic packaging that is not recyclable, which instead winds up being burned, landfilled, and/or discarded as pollution in the environment. For the first time, Break Free From Plastic has classified the plastic solutions projects of the seven top plastic polluters according to whether they represent real solutions or false ones.

The new report finds that only 39 corporate projects out of a total 265 focus on reuse. The remaining 226 corporate projects have been designated as false solutions to the plastic pollution crisis as defined by experts in our movement.

Join the three-day Action Storm on June 28-30th targeting the top plastic polluters—Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, and Nestlé—and let them know we’ve had #EnoughFalseSolutions.
