The EU’s ambitious Single-Use Plastic Directive is under threat!

The EU's Single-Use Plastic Directive is one of the most ambitious laws to tackle plastic pollution in the world. However the plastic lobby is working to redefine single-use plastic, in order to exclude items like cutlery, straws and wipes!

The draft of the law’s implementation guidelines also uses “single-serve vs multi-serve” criteria in order to exclude certain types of packaging and food containers

Let’s reach 150K signatures and protect the European Single-Use Plastic Directive from being watered down!

Kenya’s strong anti-plastic pollution laws are targeted by US corporate lobbyists!

#breakfreefromplastic changemaker James Wakibia helped Kenya pass one of the world’s toughest plastic bag bans.

ACT NOW! Tell the Kenyan Government to protect Africa’s progress against plastic pollution.

Plastic Free Seas calls for investigation on microplastics found in Discovery Bay!

In Hong Kong, #breakfreefromplastic member Plastic Free Seas is calling for an investigation of  black granule microplastics found in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong in July.

Dana Winograd of Plastic Free Seas says, “In the world of plastic marine pollution, there is often too much focus on cleanup and managing plastic pollution and not enough real action taken on prevention. The ongoing government investigation is slow. We need the government to find out the source of this problem, ensure that the ongoing pollution problem at this pitch is solved.”
