The new season of Drilled, a true-crime podcast about climate change, focuses on the natural gas industry, the petrochemical corporations, and the activists who are holding them accountable for the plastic pollution crisis.

The first episode spotlights ​​#breakfreefromplastic changemaker Diane Wilson, who won the largest settlement in a citizen lawsuit in U.S. history by collecting first-hand evidence of plastic pollution around Formosa’s facility in Port Comfort, Texas. Today, Diane is using those resources to revitalize her community’s local fisheries, local waterways, and local economy.

Zero Waste Himalaya Day

Zero Waste Himalaya Day on August 7-8th

Break Free From Plastic member Zero Waste Himalaya is hosting a webinar that will tackle the reuse revolution in the Himalayan mountains on August 7th -- one day before Zero Waste Himalaya Day!


This virtual celebration will bring together key representatives from the region, including government and civil society groups working in the waste sector, to discuss important issues like single-use plastic bans, extended producer responsibility, and pathways to a more sustainable future.

CEJAD plus Wasini Island and Shimoni community

On the front lines of zero waste islands – ’Taka ni mali designers’

At least eight million tons of plastic end up in our oceans every year, and floating plastic debris is the most abundant type of marine litter today.


To address this plastic menace, the Centre for Environmental Justice and Development (CEJAD) in Kenya has partnered with the Wasini Island and Shimoni community to establish a demonstration centre for plastic reuse, recovery, and recycling.
