Charlotte Lyretongue is the oldest daughter to the King of Filliani. Her kingdom is one of perfection and beauty. There it is peaceful, and resources are plentiful. The god of her people is a beautiful siren called Flayla who has blessed the Lyretongues with the ethereal gift of song weaving. Her ancient lineage boasts a talent for enchanting their listeners with projections of their songs. With these images, the songweavers tell their stories and pass on the history of mankind.
Charlotte finds herself blossoming into a woman in the absence of the family matriarch. She is left to figure things out on her own while juggling with confusing emotions about love, life, and loyalty.
Charlotte is the heir to her father’s empire with her younger sister, Lily. Sadly, the Lyretongue princesses must align themselves to powerful houses by marrying men of importance to secure their futures as well as allies. The only man Charlotte finds of any interest is a tall and brutish barbarian that comes from the wilds of the north.
His god is one of beasts and darkness which contrasts the beauty of Charlotte’s world. She finds herself in cold and unfamiliar lands where the gods are crueler than usual. Her prince’s barbarous nature cries out to the fiery wildness in Charlotte’s soul. This prince is loving and loyal but there is darkness that lies in his heart. He has a propensity for violence. His lineage is one rife with blood and war. While the prince boasts a silver-tongue and a heart of gold, a beast lies deep within him. It hibernates there, waiting to be set loose upon the world Charlotte inhabits.
