Hi Friend
Greetings from Stoke on Trent.
Last time we spoke, I mentioned an American publisher had commissioned me to write a short story for their 12 Shots crime anthology (at 40 pages, it's not a short story, but almost a novella).
Anway, an updated version of that is out now, and along with 12 other compelling crime stories from 11 authors, it includes the aforementioned "brand new, never published before" - Tom Blake Murder Mystery titled DISCO INFERNO.
The story is based on real events that happened in my hometown in 2003, when a local nightclub burned to the ground on New-Years-Eve. At its peak 10 pumps, two aerial appliances and 80 firefighters tackled the blaze. When it was all over, all that remained was the blackened shell of what had for 37 years been one of Stoke's most enduring and best loved nightspots.
This one really set me thinking – was the fire an electrical fault, a fake insurance job or deadly arson, and who was behind it and why?
A powerful man with secrets. A homeless man without hope. An unsolved murder. Can Detective Tom Blake uncover the shocking truth before anyone else gets killed?
Find out in DISCO INFERNO.

12 short thrillers from master storytellers… 12 exciting series to dive into in one volume.
Meet compelling characters in stories that pack a punch and keep you turning the pages.
You’ll encounter bodyguards, police officers, private detectives, bounty hunters, coroners, firefighters, vigilantes, hackers and a variety of oddballs.
They share a knack for getting into trouble – but have the skills and determination to get themselves out.
Each pulse-pounding story features the author’s main characters. When you find one you love, there’s a series behind it, waiting for you.
Many of the stories are scarily prescient to the insecurities of the present day, very much grounded in a realism that gives the collection an urbane and gritty quality.

IMPORTANT: A quick word about Apple's new privacy changes
It's getting increasingly more and more difficult for authors to communicate with our readers through email. Greedy Apple and Google are trying to limit third parties sending email, and they have introduced new filters that can block out the email you want, along with the spam you don't.
Bearing this in mind, if you still wish to receive special offers, free books and new release dates on my books and other stuff of interest (I hope you do), then please put Jon Burgess on your safe list of contacts - info@jfburgess.co.uk. I love hearing from my readers and reply personally, so feel free to email me anytime, even if just to say hello.
Take care and best wishes,
Jonathan
