We
just had our Federal Election here in Canada, and this ties in nicely
to the concept of "Voting For The Person You Want To Become". Every
time you eat a good meal, go to the gym for a workout, do your cardio,
and make a good decision with regards to your fitness and nutrition
program...
- It's like casting a vote to become the Lean Healthy Person you want to be. And vice versa - Every time you eat junk food, skip a workout, skip your cardio, and fall into bad habits...
- It's like casting a vote for the Fat Out Of Shape Person you don't want to be. |
| | However, just like with any election - you don't need a unanimous decision to win. You just need to get a majority of votes in your favor.
If you can do the right things most of the time - you'll still win! Nothing is totally off limits within the program, it's all about making good decisions most of the time, while minimizing the bad decisions. This lifestyle based approach takes the stress out of trying to be perfect, and allows you to have some balance and freedom to enjoy yourself from time to time without feeling shame or guilt. Just like a good politician doesn't expect to get every vote in his favor, you shouldn't expect to have every decision you make to be in favor of your fitness and nutrition program...
You just need to get the majority of them right to succeed.
